Strengthening Port & Logistics Terminal Security

Strengthening Port & Logistics Terminal Security

The Challenge

A port and logistics terminal needed to strengthen its security operations with an AI-powered facial recognition and alarm management capability across selected monitoring workflows.

Port and logistics terminals operate in complex environments where access control, visitor movement, personnel authorization and operational security require careful coordination. In such environments, security teams may need to complement existing physical security processes with a person-based security layer.

The terminal needed a solution that could help authorized security teams monitor selected operational areas, review security events, support watchlist-based alarm workflows and investigate incidents more effectively.

A port and logistics terminal project demonstrated how AI-enabled camera infrastructure and AI-powered recognition software can work together in demanding transportation, logistics and terminal security environments. In this project, Hanwha Vision cameras supported the broader security infrastructure with camera-side video analytics and situational awareness capabilities. Nevalabs’ Corvo Identify Pro complemented this camera infrastructure by adding an AI-powered facial recognition, alarm management and investigation layer for selected terminal security workflows. From our perspective, the project shows how reliable camera infrastructure and intelligent security software can complement each other in complex terminal operations.

The project also required a solution that could operate within existing security processes and support controlled authorization workflows without disrupting daily terminal operations.

The Solution

Nevalabs provided Corvo Identify Pro as the AI-powered facial recognition, watchlist monitoring and security investigation software layer for the port and logistics terminal project.

The project was delivered through Arte Teknoloji, Nevalabs’ technology partner for the project. Arte Teknoloji supported the customer-facing delivery, implementation coordination and required infrastructure scope, while Nevalabs delivered the Corvo Identify Pro software layer.

Corvo Identify Pro helped authorized security teams add a person-based recognition layer to selected terminal security workflows. The system supported facial recognition-based alarms, watchlist monitoring, alarm review and security investigation workflows.

The solution also supported controlled authorization scenarios, helping security teams manage selected person-based access and monitoring workflows more effectively.

For investigation use cases, authorized users could use facial recognition capabilities to support review and search workflows from relevant visual sources. These capabilities helped security teams analyze security events and support post-event investigation processes.

The deployment used an on-premises architecture aligned with the terminal’s operational and security requirements.

Hanwha Vision AI-enabled camera infrastructure supported the broader terminal security environment with camera-side video analytics and situational awareness capabilities. This camera-side intelligence complemented Corvo Identify Pro’s AI-powered facial recognition, alarm management and investigation layer across selected terminal monitoring workflows.
